. there really is a big impact there. >> now your 11 insta-weather- plus forecast with ava marie. >> it is really shaping up to be another warm, steamy afternoon. it is september, but we've not let go of the summer heat just yet. it easily feels like the mid- 90's when you factor in the dew points temperature. out west, a lot of 80 is showing up across the region. a few places are reporting in the upper 70's. i want to show you the dew points temperatures. you add this with the temperatures, and it feels a lot more uncomfortable outdoors. it feels like the upper eighties to low 90s when you get downtown, and that is because dew points temperatures are in the low 70's. in little but drier as you get out west. this is as a cold front is starting to inch its way into the area. we have the clouds scattered about associated with the cold front. not the cloud cover, but enough that you have a chance for thunderstorms as we get into the afternoon. high pressure trying to come in behind this. there is an area of low pressure out west. in line of storms is moving across indiana towards the storm system. t

the state attorney general's office. >> now, you're a 11 insta- weather-plus forecast with ava marie. >> but afternoon. we started with rain. we had a bit of a bright. we could have more rain to wrap up the day. a couple of light showers showing up just south of hagerstown. these are slowly starting to migrate back over. this is where the majority of the rain is right now. that could change as this entire front extends to our west. we could get more development as we get into the afternoon. here's a look at the satellite picture here. this front is further up north into the great lakes region. the sun heats up the atmosphere and taps into the moisture coming in to the south and nieto of the front, and that will allow for more thunderstorms to pop-up in the afternoon. we will have to watch out for this as we get into the afternoon hours. this will stay in our area for multiple days. we've been able to warm up a little bit more today. temperatures are pushing into the mid-seventies across the metro area. it is much cooler in the mountains, where we have 60s and low seventies right now.

your 11 insta-weather- plus forecast with meteorologist ava marie. >> things may be quiet in the east, but the tropics are still very much alive. we have this latest tropical system, and as they put the satellite picture in motion, you can see that it is starting to organize a little bit more. that is what we are watching as we continue to have this system organized. it may be our next main system, which would be nadine. tropical depression of 14 is traveling off to the west. the track space in between the atlantic, and that is good news. if this changes, we will keep you up-to-date. that is something we will have to watch out for. back to our area, it is picture- perfect. high-pressure really dominates over the east right now, not only over maryland, but much of the mid-atlantic. a large part of the northeast is enjoying the sunshine right now. the high-pressure extends back into the planes as well. we have a couple more clouds as we back to the mountains and the four corners region, as a cold front is moving their way. it was a chilly start to the day, and now comfortable in the aft
